The game offers two types of droppable items: the gems, which ideally you want to link up into long contiguous chains, and the balls, which will shatter any same-coloured gems that they come into contact with. There's not very much variation in the free online demo version, but the constant sound of shattering glass is more satisfying than filling a recycling bin with a month's worth of empties.
